Jewel Sanders is an equity-driven leader and Director in the Division of School Leadership for Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS). A self-described equity warrior, she champions culturally responsive leadership and works to build meaningful bridges that connect individuals and families to the resources they need to thrive and reach their fullest potential.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in African American Studies, a Master’s in English Education, and certification in School Administration, and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Educational Leadership. Jewel also teaches Leadership for Equity & Excellence in the McDaniel College Equity & Excellence in Education Graduate Certificate Program.
As the director and active board member in Community Impact, Inc., Jewel is proud to support its mission to strengthen families through critical resources, services, and engagement. She believes her work is guided by her faith, and that God has given her the gift of helping others.
Jewel is happily married and the proud mother of three children.
